Matthew Cook joined the Palomar Group in February 2025 and brings over 12 years of expertise in asset management, investment advisory, and financial analysis to the team.
Prior to joining Palomar, Matthew worked as an Asset Manager for Albanese Cormier Holdings where he focused on maximizing portfolio value through strategic acquisitions, dispositions, and recapitalizations. In this role, he was directly involved with C-Suite personnel and Principals managing the investment strategy of a diverse real estate portfolio of over 90 properties across 25 states at its height. He was instrumental in transaction efforts, directly contributing to acquisitions and dispositions totaling over $300 million across a spectrum of property types.
Following his time at Albanese Cormier, Matthew founded MCDEV, where he leveraged his extensive knowledge of the commercial real estate industry to provide consulting and development services. Matthew is excited to bring the same entrepreneurial spirit to the Palomar Group as the team continues to grow.
A graduate of the University of Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in Classics, Matthew has a profound love for ancient civilizations, further enriched by earning a Master of Arts from St. John’s College. His academic background enhances his strategic thinking and understanding of cultural dynamics, which he applies to his professional endeavors.
Matthew holds several significant certifications, including Certified Exit Planning Advisor and Certified Financial Planner, and he earned his Master of Science in Accounting and Business Law from Lamar University.
Matthew is happily married to his wife, Chassis, and together they are blessed with three children: John David, Montgomery, and Eloise. He is an active member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Beaumont, TX, and he contributes to his community as a board member at All Saints Episcopal School and the Jefferson County Housing Finance Corporation. Matthew is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
